Do I need to pay to apply to a job or get an interview call? / Recruiters are asking me to pay to schedule interview for job?

Note that genuine recruiters do not ask for money to schedule interviews or offer a job. If you are receiving such calls or emails, beware as this might be a job scam.

We regret that sometimes, despite our best efforts, false job postings are listed online, and non-existing job offers are sent via email to illegally collect personal information and/or money from unsuspecting job seekers. Please note that Naukri.com does not approve of, or represent any employer or recruiter sending such fraudulent communication, which in fact are a violation of the Terms and Conditions. In such cases, we remain vigilant every day - When we receive complaints from Jobseekers about fraudulent or suspicious emails, we promptly notify the concerned employer client and, if necessary, block them from using our services. Report such cases to compliance@naukri.com.

On basis of past complaints from jobseekers, we encourage you to be wary of the following:

1. Do not share your personal, non-work related information such as Credit Card numbers or Bank information over phone or email

2. Do not provide a call back phone number or provide contact information that is outside the country

3. Do not trust anyone asking for any kind of payment for Job Applications, conducting interviews, or any other such employment/recruitment related purpose

4. Beware of anyone promising a guaranteed job/interview call

5. Beware of calls/emails from people claiming to be Naukri employees. Only emails from @naukri.com domain belong to that of Naukri employees

Before you respond to such communication, we suggest you to do a discreet enquiry and be sure to verify the legitimacy of the employer with whom you are interacting.

How can I update/edit my Profile?

To update your profile on Naukri.com:

1. Login to your Naukri account

2. Hover the mouse over the My Profile in the right upper corner of the page.

3. Click on Edit Profile

This will take you to a page where you can update the profile details

We recommend you to update your Profile regularly. Recruiters often contact only those candidates who have recently updated their profiles

How can I deactivate my job account?

In case you are not looking for a job right now, you can deactivate your Naukri account. This will stop all emails from Naukri. We will reactivate your account only when you login again on Naukri.com.

To deactivate your Naukri account, go to ‘Communication and Privacy’ in the ‘Settings’ page. Here, select ‘Not looking for job right now’ and select ‘Deactivate till next login”.

I do not want my current employer to have access to my profile. How can I block a recruiter?

You have an option to select companies to whom you do not wish to reveal your resume. Once you have logged in to your account, click on ‘Settings’ in ‘My Profile’ tab visible at the top right corner of the page. On mobile, you can find this in the side menu bar. Click on the ‘Blocked Companies’ section. Here, you can search and select the company that you want to block. It may be your current employer or any other company. If you cannot find the company name in the list, search for variants. For example, ABC Private Limited & ABC Pvt. Ltd are variants of the same company name.

Recruiters from the companies selected will not be able to view your profile. We will try our best to conceal you profile from these companies but we cannot guarantee this.
